The Barnchive

Photography, Web, FlashThe Barnchive was created for Multimedia450, for the task of creating a digital archive. Unlike most groups we decided to go big and set out to archive some of the more interesting structures in the area, and have some fun doing it.
Each barn was photographed, located, and had a small history written of it. The photographs were then composited to form one large picture, that could be Zoomified to show the detail. Each picture was made of 30 or more smaller ones.
In addition to this we used a GPS locater to plot each barn's position on a map of the area, that is accessible through Google Maps.
Finally each barn had a brief history written as told by its current owners. In the end we had a comprehensive structure that could be used for the archiving of more historic barns in the area.
